What a Saturday is for.... (aka, here comes a rambling blog entry)

I'll tell you what a Saturday WASN'T made for. Homework.

But so it must be.
But not yet, please.

Last night I was feeling "cheesed off," and went out for a drive. I got on the highway and thought, "I could be at my sister's house by about 2 am if I stay on this road...." She always lets me borrow pajamas. She has contacts solution. I had my wallet. I could spend some days with the babies and be back for class on Tuesday night! It was really hard to take the next exit back into town instead of just leaving. This morning when I woke up in my own bed, I was pretty sure I should've just gone. Ha ha! Oops!

Do you know how excited I am that the snow is melting off a little? Springtime happens to bring back some of my most vivid and pleasant memories. Mom used to listen to a song that began, "Memories - pressed between the pages of my mind." Today some of my memories fell out of their hiding place and onto my lap. I've been comparing what I used to be to who I am now. There are a few things in my life that need to change, and it's a good feeling to know it. There are goals to be made and met! There are also a few frustrations to be eliminated.

This will sound strange, but among more weighty goals, I have a goal to watch more movies and a goal to listen to SEVERAL radio stations in a day. Maybe I'll also make a goal to give up my social ice cream habit. I have not really solidified my goals about working out, but I have been making some great memories with a friend who takes me to the gym and trains me on weights. He used to be in the Marines and he's kind of a bodybuilder. He lectures me about my protein intake. It's so much fun. If you come see me, I'll show you how pronounced my brachialis is becoming.

Here's another memory (pictured above.) Look at the AZ sunshine. I will be so excited when I see it again. This picture is from about seven or eight years ago. Time flies and it changes a lot of things. But it doesn't easily change a lifelong farmer tan.
