Irresistible

I cannot resist getting close to magnolia flowers,
even though they make me sneeze. So large, so white, so graceful. Such intriguing light and shadow shapes. The one I photographed in preparation for this painting was eight or nine inches in diameter.

I've completed two paintings so far in this magnolia series, with the intent to paint a very large one (30x22") in a similar style. Pictures can never do justice to the vibrance of the original colors.

This painting is only a few inches high. (Coin for scale.)
